EU elections set for record turnout despite Qatargate

The Qatargate corruption scandal does not appear to have dented the European Parliament's image with EU citizens, with data published on Wednesday (17 April) pointing to a likely record turnout at June's elections.

The parliament's Spring 2024 Eurobarometer survey, the last such exercise before June's EU elections, suggests that 41 percent of Europeans have a positive perception of the EU assembly, a five-point increase compared to autumn 2023 and eight points higher than in October 20...
